The 4 fixes worth the most altitude
Ordered by how many points each one adds to the score. Start at the top.
- 1+5
Reach: localised listing
Fix1 language.
Each localisation adds a new title, subtitle and 100-character keyword field. Even without translating the app, localise the listing for ES, DE, FR, PT-BR and JA.
- 2+2
Subtitle: adds new keywords
ImproveRepeats title words: “travel”.
Apple counts a word once across title, subtitle and keyword field. Replace “travel” with words you do not rank for yet.
- 3+2
Description: shows social proof
FixNo user counts, press or awards mentioned.
Add one line of proof near the top: user count, rating, a press quote or an Apple feature.
Keyword map
What Apple indexes, and what it ignores
On iOS, only the title, subtitle and hidden keyword field count for search. The description does not. Words you only mention there are invisible.
Indexedtitle + subtitle
6 unique words. Apple combines them, so “budget” and “planner” also rank for “budget planner”.

8 of 10 screenshot slots used
The first three do most of the selling: they appear directly in search results. Read them as a stranger would, in two seconds.

Metadata Studio checks character limits, wasted words and keyword coverage as you type.
Audit of the public listing as of today. The hidden 100-character keyword field cannot be read from outside App Store Connect, so it is not scored.
